The far right
Before 2000 I wrote as a ‘conservative’. Since then I’ve been a ‘moderate-to-conservative’ because, like most traditional conservatives, I am repulsed by the sanctimony of the far right of Trump and others. They are immature, stunted, repressed, frustrated, dogmatic, regimented, staid, obedient, intolerant, rigid, reactionary, angry, fearful and believe in conspiracies. They have a martyr’s complex, feeling victimized and under siege. They make fetishes of guns, the bible, the flag, the past, and the constitution – secure beacons in a threatening world of change. They won’t face LGBT and issues to them are black and white. Security is the biggest military, biggest police force, and the biggest gun in the closet. They seek a demagogue [Trump] on a white horse riding down from the clouds to save them. They plod through life, bent over with responsibility, seeking beliefs that provide all the answers, trying to prove themselves, and trying to get even.
ReligionSome are fundamentalists. They mix church and state, and get hung up on school prayer, displaying the 10 commandments and nativity scenes. They fear ‘evil’ and don’t believe in evolution.
Family They are against unmarried couples living together, same sex marriage, and gay parents.
SexThey favor abstinence vows, andthey are against passing out condoms which reduces the spread of aids.
LifeSome are against stem cell research. Some are against birth control and the morning after pill. They go ballistic over abortion. Some are anti-right to die. They insisted on keeping Teri Shaivo alive. It was later discovered she’d been brain dead for 15 years.
International America is divine, our ways are best. America first, regardless of who it hurts. Might makes right. We reduce foreign aid to countries that allow abortion and refuse to shield Americans from the international courts.

Being more insecure than they know, they seek power and bully those with less – gays, immigrants, minorities and women. They resisted integration, intermarriage, and divorce. They see compromise as a sell-out.
Being sexually repressed, they’ve been at war with themselves. War for them is natural and to be glorified. They worship the military and symbols of power.
When parents with kids entered the country illegally, they separated some of the kids by thousands of miles from their parents and deported the parents. Some kids didn’t see their parents for months or longer. Never since slavery has our government been so cruelto kids. That’s the far right.
