Balancing the Pros vs. Cons of America

One of the saddest testaments to countries all over the world is the younger generations’ lack of knowledge about their country of origin as well as basics regarding countries all over the world.  U.S. citizens stand on one side of a line or the other and rarely do they try to achieve a balanced view of the community around them.

Knowledge is power and the best way to get it is by reading articles, newspapers, watching the news and then deciding for yourself about the American characteristics this country has.  It is important to be balanced for there is no country that is completely good or bad but rather they are all still growing in some way or another but in different directions.

America is one of the youngest countries in the world and yet one of her downfalls is the thought that she knows it all and has the right to exercise her power on any country determined by this country to be in trouble.  On the flip side, the U.S. is one of the few locations that is wide open to immigrants and has been so since her inception even though discrimination has been a struggling issues for decades.  Loyalty is something that older generations have when it comes to military, church and politics while the younger people are sliding more and more towards a socialist perspective where everything should be ‘handed’ to them without the stress of hard work.  Freedom is a word that has outlined what Americans cherish most about their citizenship and the reason that individuals flock to these borders from all over the world.  Men and women are still willing to fight for it but they are also willing to fight each other over smaller issues that people should be coming together on instead of working against one another.

These are just a few of the top American characteristics but readers can check out more online by looking for articles and blogs that list out the pros and cons in a balanced manner.  The U.S. is one of the greatest countries to live in but to be an informed citizen, you need to look at both sides of the argument and then make a decision.
